Well Don't Just Stand There!

A man grows most tired while standing still. -A Chinese Proverb

Do you consider yourself as a couch potato that lacks energy? Being inactive makes us tired, then being tired makes us tired. Sometimes we are put in unavoidable situations where we are inactive, for example, standing in a long line in a store. When we finally walk away from waiting, we are sometimes left with a feeling of being tired because being inactive is tiresome. This proverb warns us about consistently living an inactive lifestyle. Inactivity can lead to health problems including depression. Remember to keep your mind and body active. Staying active is healthy! It does a body good! Have a fun action-packed day!

From Misfortune to Wisdom

One who causes others misfortune also teaches them wisdom. ~ An African proverb As we know, misfortune is a difficult experience. Betrayal, lies, deceit are all hurtful. When we dwell on the pain of misfortune itself, it will bring us down. When we decide to keep our heads up and learn from the misfortune, it brings us wisdom! Those that cause us misfortune aren't well liked, but while we may swear off never dealing with them, we can also be thankful for the lesson learned, and the wisdom gained with after dealing with them!

Bridges or Dams

In the moment of crisis, the wise build bridges, and the foolish build dams. ~ Nigerian proverb How do you respond in a time of crisis? Do you reach out or shut people out? This proverb encourages us to connect with each other instead of excluding one another. A bridge allows people to communicate, create communities and move freely to reach help. A dam blocks communication, it stops anything from going in or out. In a time of crisis, we need help. A bridge allows us to get help, whereas a dam would block help, and cause destruction if it breaks. Let's continue to build bridges and make it easier to help one another instead of dams to block others out. Have a great bridge building day!

Words are Powerful

A slip of the foot may soon be recovered, but that of the tongue perhaps never. - A Danish Proverb   Have you ever said something you wish you could take back? This proverb encourages us to watch what we say because we can never take back hurtful words once they are said. Our words are important and powerful. They can encourage or tear down. The Holy Bible also says in Proverbs 18:21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue! Let use our words to help instead of cause a problem that one may not recover from! Have a pleasant day of wonderfully spoken words!
