Bridges or Dams

In the moment of crisis, the wise build bridges, and the foolish build dams. ~ Nigerian proverb

How do you respond in a time of crisis? Do you reach out or shut people out? This proverb encourages us to connect with each other instead of excluding one another. A bridge allows people to communicate, create communities and move freely to reach help. A dam blocks communication, it stops anything from going in or out. In a time of crisis, we need help. A bridge allows us to get help, whereas a dam would block help, and cause destruction if it breaks. Let's continue to build bridges and make it easier to help one another instead of dams to block others out.
